Commune

“Commune” is a dance film/filmed dance that explores the space I am currently calling home, one half of a yellow duplex in Durham, North Carolina, USA. The house is very old, and many spirits are present here that I am still getting to know. I have made the acquaintance of many living creatures in the surroundings, including but not limited to crows, squirrels, trees, palmetto bugs, spiders, mildew, mosquitoes, mockingbirds, ants, blue jays, house finches, cardinals, and my human and canine neighbors, many of whom are very friendly and kind. 

I am making sense of how to exist in this space now and with these presences, and this study is documentation of and a living part of that process.
